Description: We all love great stories behind a coin or coins. This 1908 $20 Saint Gaudens Type 2 gold Double Eagle was part of the Wells Fargo Hoard found in the early 1990s.  It was the largest hoard of ultra high quality $20 Saint Gaudens ever discovered. Rare coin dealer Ron Gillio bought the entire hoard and the transacion was completed at a Wells Fargo bank in Las Vegas. It is the first year of the lower releif design and is an excellent specimen as would be expected for its grade.
